Helping you put the Pieces Together.
With 25 years of experience working with community-based nonprofits and higher education advancement teams, I know how to fit all the moving pieces together to create change. From executive coaching, to fundraising strategy, to communications and messaging, my guidance can help you achieve your goals.
Meet the Founder
I created Nest Starter to help organizations make fundraising and nonprofit management feel more manageable and meaningful. As a nonprofit professional, your work is important and you deserve someone who understands the seriousness of your goals while bringing a sense of ease and creativity to the process. I won’t just drop in with a checklist and a one-size-fits-all approach. I will work alongside you, as a collaborator and sounding board.
My work centers on fundraising consulting, board development, and executive coaching, with an approach that is tailored to each client’s goals. If you’d like a thought partner who will bring a mix of strategy, encouragement, and plainspoken honesty to this work, let’s talk.
What’s in a Name?
Nest Starter is named for a simple family joke that followed me from childhood into my work with nonprofits. My grandfather loved to tease me for how I would wrap myself tightly in a blanket to create a cozy little corner wherever I was. He would smile and say, “She has to build a nest to be happy,” as if nesting were just part of who I was. That instinct never really changed — only the materials did.
Today, instead of blankets and pillows, the nest is made of board members, staff, systems, stories, and community relationships. Nest Starter grew out of the belief that every organization deserves that same sense of safety and fit: a fundraising nest built from what they already have, in a way that feels natural rather than forced.
